Your gift is lifesaving

Your gift goes straight to work providing care and companionship to homeless dogs and cats and ensuring that they get the support they need to find loving homes.

You’ll also be helping to fund lifesaving endeavors like low-cost spay/neuter services, community cat programs, and resources to help keep pets in their homes with the families who love them.

Save lives, from the workplace

There are so many ways that businesses can support the animals at Best Friends and help save lives, from starting a workplace giving program to becoming a corporate partner to participating in local and national events.

Start a workplace giving program

Many employers offer matching gift programs that double or triple charitable contributions made by their employees. Some companies even match gifts made by retirees and spouses.

Become a corporate partner

Best Friends’ corporate partners lend their voices and inspire customers and clients to save the lives of homeless pets by raising funds and awareness.

Sponsor an event

Businesses can sponsor a Best Friends event, such as Strut Your Mutt, to help shelters and rescue groups in their area raise funds for the pets in their care.

Participate in national and local events

Find information about events hosted by Best Friends near you and around the country.

Advertise

Help support Best Friends and get the word out about your business by advertising in Best Friends magazine

Volunteer as a group

At some companies, employees roll up their sleeves as a group and volunteer their time to help homeless pets.

Become a foundation partner

If your family, corporate or community foundation is interested in funding Best Friends’ lifesaving programs in your community, we would love to partner with you. If you would like to explore ways for your foundation to enter into a charitable partnership with Best Friends, please contact us at foundationpartners@bestfriends.org

Match employee donations, fundraising goals or volunteer hours

Some of the most respected brands in the world motivate their employees to get involved in their communities by providing incentives. These companies realize that when people know they are helping to save the lives of animals in shelters, they feel happier and more compassionate.

Other ways to give to the animals

License plate fund

Support spay/neuter efforts in your community by getting the Best Friends license plate for your vehicle. The plate costs just $25 a year, and all proceeds go to help the animals through Best Friends in Utah’s spay/neuter programs.

Click here for information on how to get your plate. Or you can visit any DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) location in Utah and tell the clerk you want the pets license plate.

Have the old design and want to update? Take your vehicle registration and license plate to any DMV office. If your plate is in good condition, your decals will be replaced for free. If you need a new plate, you'll pay a $15 fee and your new plates will be mailed to you. Your number and registration date will not change.

Tax check-off

You can help save lives with a simple stroke of your pen. Just check “Cat and Dog Spay/Neuter Community Program” on your Utah state tax return and put your taxes to work saving the lives of dogs and cats. The funds raised help low-income families spay or neuter their pets via local veterinarians throughout the state.

Employer match

Your gift to Best Friends could help twice as many homeless pets. Many employers offer matching gift programs that double or even triple charitable contributions made by their employees.

Some companies even match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses, too.  And many employers also offer volunteer matching programs that match employee volunteerism with corporate donations!

Simply enter your employer's name at bestfriends.org/workplace to learn about their matching gift program.

If you do not find your employer, please check with your human resources department to see if your company offers a matching gift program.
