Location of Best Friends Animal Sanctuary
The Sanctuary entrance is about five miles north of Kanab on the east (right) side of Highway 89, between the 69 and 70-mile markers. A blue highway sign indicates that the Best Friends entrance is coming up and that you should turn into Kanab Canyon when you see the big Best Friends sign. It’s about a 1.5-mile drive to the Best Friends Welcome Center, which is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week, except Christmas Day.
There is plenty of free parking in front of the welcome center, including space for RV vehicles. You’ll see the parking area on the left as you drive in from the south entrance. Be sure to watch for signs. Sorry, overnight parking is not allowed; however, Best Friends has RV sites available for rent.
Important: In the interest of safety and avoiding fines, please observe speed limits. Mule deer are plentiful in the area from fall through spring, so take care when driving, particularly from dusk to dawn.
