On behalf of the many cats, dogs, bunnies, pigs, wild friends, parrots, and equines here at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, welcome and thank you for visiting.

You've made it to the nation's largest no-kill sanctuary for companion animals, and we're super excited for you to explore the grounds and experience the magic here. Due to our remote location, you might not have service everywhere you go. So, while you've got internet access, check out some ideas for making the most of your stay.

Start at the welcome center

Whether you're looking to volunteer, go on a tour, or have questions about how to adopt a pet while you're at the Sanctuary, this is the place to begin.

When you arrive, our friendly staff (and maybe an animal or two) will be waiting to say hello and give you the scoop on what to do and where to find everything.

You’ll also find restrooms here, along with the Best Friends Store, where you can purchase drinks, snacks, and souvenirs. (Yes, we have really cool cat T-shirts and toys and treats for your canine buddy, too!)

And if you're looking to spend some quality time with the animals, you can meet a variety of adoptable cats and kittens here at Roxy's Room, as well as in the cattery toward the back of the Best Friends Store.

Be prepared

The Sanctuary is located in a high-altitude desert environment, so be sure to have water on hand throughout your day, along with a hat, sunglasses, and sunblock.

Enjoy lunch with a view

Angel Village Café overlooks the beautiful Angel Canyon and is the Sanctuary’s hot spot from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., serving an incredible salad bar and vegan buffet seven days a week.
