Don Jennings

Don Jennings joined Best Friends in April 2019 as Manager of Operations for Embed Programming, moving to Director of Support Services for National Embed Programming in July 2019. Prior to joining Best Friends, he spent 13 years as a Montessori elementary school teacher, a decade with the YMCA, and another seven years in animal welfare (focusing on organization recovery). Don became adept at creating consensus environments in which communities can realize their best potential.  

Don is a cheerful problem-solver with a passion for details, data and observation, all in service of "making things work." His jack-of-all-trades skill set provides support for Best Friends' national embed programming, which involves staff members working with partner organizations on location for extended periods. The goal is to increase lifesaving sustainably, an important part of Best Friends' efforts to achieve no-kill nationwide by 2025.
