Greta Palmer
Chief Marketing and Communications Officer
Inspired after a week-long volunteer vacation at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in 2009, Greta left her job as a Managing Director at a New York City-based marketing agency, loaded up her car with her dog Willie, and moved 2,500 miles west to Kanab, Utah, to join Best Friends and fuel her passion to help save the lives of animals.
With more than 20 years of marketing and events experience, Greta now heads up Best Friends' marketing and communications teams, who are charged with helping to raise awareness and public support for Best Friends and our lifesaving work.
As Manager Director at greendog, a subsidiary of LeadDog Marketing Group, Greta oversaw marketing campaigns for national media and non-profit brands including ABC Primetime, Better Homes and Gardens, AARP The Magazine, Wildlife Conservation Society and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
Prior to agency life, Greta was responsible for promoting men on ice and Lord Stanley's Cup for the National Hockey League, where she oversaw interactive experiences and promotions geared towards growing the NHL's fan base.
Greta graduated from the University of Maryland with a BA in Journalism, and has been published in the Washington Post, Washingtonian Magazine and Chicago Sun-Times.
