Antony Gleeson, Co-Founder
Antony Gleeson is a co-founder of Best Friends and a true jack-of-all-trades.
He considers himself a “foot soldier for homeless pets” and has always pitched in wherever help was needed. When the Sanctuary was first being built, Antony helped with the layout and physical construction of Angel Village, which now houses the cafeteria and offices. He also did everything from delivering buckets of water to the dogs to fixing water heaters and furnaces, feeding horses, maintaining the Sanctuary’s fleet of older vehicles, driving staff and visitors to Las Vegas, picking up donated goods, setting up tables outside grocery stores for donations, and taking visitors on hikes.
As the years passed, Antony the foot soldier was needed in a new kind of environment: an office. So he got to work doing everything from sorting raffle tickets to mailing magazines and newsletters, and eventually he settled into working with companies to match their employees’ gifts to Best Friends. But to this day, he still enjoys taking visitors and new employees on hikes through Angel Canyon.
