Vivian Ebbs, Co-Founder

When the Sanctuary was young and always in need of a dollar, Vivian, along with many other co-founders, would do “tabling” — setting up tables in front of stores, armed with donation cans, newsletters, magazines, and anything else that might strike up a conversation about Best Friends and why someone might like to give. She was particularly good at it and enjoyed meeting new people and spreading the message of kindness to animals.

When tabling was no longer a pressing need, Vivian worked at Cat World and was particularly good with sick cats. She learned vet tech skills and neonatal care for kittens. Eventually, she was involved in managing Cat World and was a vital part of expanding and upgrading the cat care protocols, staffing, and facilities.

Vivian has also long enjoyed helping in the landscaping department with indoor plant care, and she did that for many years until her retirement.
