New legislation would help end retail pet sales in Nevada, protecting consumers and promoting adoption along the way.
Assembly Bill 487 would effectively prohibit Nevada pet stores from selling dogs and cats. The legislation would encourage Nevada pet stores to offer pets from the state's shelters and rescue groups instead of supporting inhumane commercial breeding mills.
