[CAMPAIGN ENDED] Urge your representatives to vote YES on Senate Bill 1230.
In August 2021, Illinois enacted important legislation to stop pet stores from selling puppies and kittens sourced from inhumane pet mills. This was a great step forward to protect consumers and make Illinois a more humane state for our companion animal friends.
Yet, several unethical pet stores have decided not to comply with this lifesaving policy and are using a loophole in the law to continue profiting from the sale of pets from breeding mills.
Fortunately, there is new legislation pending in the legislature that would close that loophole; Senate Bill 1230 would ensure pet stores could not sell puppies or kittens from inhumane breeding mills.
