Gov. Hochul has signed lifesaving puppy mill bills into law.

The New York state legislature is considering lifesaving, bipartisan legislation that would prevent pet stores from selling puppies, kittens, and bunnies sourced from inhumane breeding mills.

If enacted, A. 4283S.1130 will help put an end to the suffering of countless animals in substandard breeding facilities and reduce killing in New York shelters by shrinking the retail market for milled pets — while increasing adoption opportunities for homeless dogs, cats, and rabbits.
