Pets make our hearts fuller and our lives brighter, leaving us forever changed. When they pass, we memorialize them with a love that lives on eternally.

Though gone from our lives, we never forget our cherished pets. That’s why we offer this unique digital space to create a lasting and personal tribute to your special companion.

Here you can choose to share your photos and stories on a memorial webpage for your pet, make a gift in their honor, or find other personalized ways to pay tribute to the memory of your pet.

Create a pet memorial

Whether you're creating a memorial page for your own pet or on behalf of a grieving loved one, you’ll be able to easily share your online tribute, including on social media.

Visitors will have the option to post their own comments and words of encouragement. You can also leave a virtual token of remembrance on other memorial tribute pages as a symbol of your sympathy and support.

You can also create a memorial fundraiser to honor the life of a beloved pet. Visitors to your memorial page will have the chance to make a gift to the animals in remembrance of your own very best friend. All contributions will go straight to work helping dogs and cats in shelters around the country find loving homes.

When you create a memorial, you ensure your pet will also be remembered in our monthly blessing that takes place at Angels Rest here at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. These ceremonies celebrate and pay tribute to the special animals who remain forever in our hearts.

Order a memorial marker or other tribute

There are many ways to memorialize your pet at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary or at home.

A peaceful place of remembrance

At the heart of Best Friends Animal Sanctuary is Angels Rest, a place of comfort where we remember cherished pets who have passed and pay tribute to these never-forgotten companions.

Tokens of remembrance for pets we’ve lost

At Best Friends, the ritual of leaving stones or tokens on the graves of animals has become a cherished and meaningful tradition.

Leaving a stone represents your loving support for those connected to this special pet and acknowledges and honors the bond that exists between them forever.

Coping with pet loss

Grief over the passing of a pet is very real, but when you’re ready, there are paths to healing that can help you cope with the grief and sadness.

Remembering and sharing are a part of the grieving process. To share memories and photos of your pet, create a memorial page. If you’re not ready to create a page, you can help homeless pets waiting to live their best lives with a gift in memory of your special pet

Remembering an animal lover

When you make a memorial gift, you not only pay tribute to a beloved person, but you’re also supporting homeless pets by ensuring they get the love and care they need to thrive while waiting for families of their very own.

About Best Friends Animal Society

Best Friends is working to end the killing of dogs and cats in U.S. shelters in part by getting more pets out of shelters and into loving homes.

We’ve come a long way since the first known city reached no-kill in 1994, and now we’re closer than ever to making the entire country no-kill. Today, nearly 2,500 shelters are no-kill throughout the U.S. — and over 600 more are just 100 pets or fewer away from reaching that milestone.

Best Friends is committed to working with passionate people like you to save homeless pets through adoption, volunteering, fostering, and advocacy. In addition to our lifesaving centers around the U.S, we also founded and run the nation's largest no-kill sanctuary for companion animals.

Working together, we can save homeless pets in our communities and secure a better future for our best friends. Together, we will bring the whole country to no-kill.
