Hi, I'm Hermes! I’m a 5-year-old white domestic shorthair with a soft coat, bright watchful eyes, and a calm confidence that comes from knowing who I am. I like to observe my surroundings, take my time exploring, and choose my favorite cozy spots with care. I enjoy gentle company, quiet affection, and being near people who respect my space and let me come to them. Once I trust you, I’ll show you my affectionate side—soft purrs, slow blinks, and the occasional head nudge to say “I like you.” I’m looking for a home where I can feel safe, understood, and loved just as I am. I don’t need much—just kindness, patience, and a place where I can relax and belong. If you’re looking for a steady, thoughtful companion with a gentle heart, I think we could be a perfect match… I’m currently hanging out at the Houston Hub located at 901 Pinemont Drive, Houston, TX 77018. Come by and meet me between 9am-6pm. Feel free to text/call 832-342-9411 to let us know you are heading to the center so we can confirm the pet is available To learn more about me, please fill out the survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BHOU/Dog

About Best Friends Animal Society

Best Friends is working to end the killing of dogs and cats in U.S. shelters in part by getting more pets out of shelters and into loving homes.

We’ve come a long way since the first known city reached no-kill in 1994, and now we’re closer than ever to making the entire country no-kill. Of the roughly 3,900 shelters operating in America today, 1,300 of them are not yet no-kill, but nearly half are close with 100 or fewer additional pets to be saved, and we know what to do to get them there.

Best Friends is committed to working with passionate people like you to save homeless pets through adoption, volunteering, fostering, and advocacy. In addition to our lifesaving centers around the U.S, we also founded and run the nation's largest no-kill sanctuary for companion animals.

Working together, we can save homeless pets in our communities and secure a better future for our best friends. Together, we will bring the whole country to no-kill.
