Hi, I'm Sonny! I know what you’re thinking—“Sonny? But he’s all black!” Exactly. I like to keep things interesting. Think of me as your own little shadow with a warm, sunny personality to match my name. At two years old, I’m in my prime: playful when the mood strikes (watch out for my lightning-fast toy attacks), but mostly I’m a laid-back guy who enjoys the simple things—good company, a comfy spot, and some well-earned chin scratches. I’ve got sleek, shiny fur and a talent for appearing silently beside you like, “Oh, hi. I live here now.” I’m the kind of cat who bonds closely with my people. I’ll hang out near you, keep you company during quiet moments, and maybe even follow you around just to make sure you’re doing everything correctly. (Don’t worry, I’m a very supportive supervisor.) I don’t need constant attention—I just want to be part of your world. A little love, a little playtime, and a cozy place to call mine? That’s all I’m asking for. I’m currently hanging out at the Houston Hub located at 901 Pinemont Drive, Houston, TX 77018. Come by and meet me between 9am-6pm. Feel free to text/call 832-342-9411 to let us know you are heading to the center so we can confirm Sonny is available. About Best Friends Animal Society

Best Friends is working to end the killing of dogs and cats in U.S. shelters in part by getting more pets out of shelters and into loving homes.

We’ve come a long way since the first known city reached no-kill in 1994, and now we’re closer than ever to making the entire country no-kill. Of the roughly 3,900 shelters operating in America today, 1,300 of them are not yet no-kill, but nearly half are close with 100 or fewer additional pets to be saved, and we know what to do to get them there.

Best Friends is committed to working with passionate people like you to save homeless pets through adoption, volunteering, fostering, and advocacy. In addition to our lifesaving centers around the U.S, we also founded and run the nation's largest no-kill sanctuary for companion animals.

Working together, we can save homeless pets in our communities and secure a better future for our best friends. Together, we will bring the whole country to no-kill.
