Use the mailing address change request form at save.bestfriends.org/mailing-address-change-request, or email mailings@bestfriends.org with your old and new addresses. It can take six to eight weeks for mailings and the magazine to follow you, because mailing lists go to the mail house well before each mailing. Filing a forwarding order with USPS covers the gap. An email address change takes about a week.

Best Friends collects and uses your personal information to circulate news about Best Friends and its programs, to promote events, to acquire new members and subscribers, to operate the Best Friends Websites, and for other internal marketing, promotional, and fundraising purposes. You can become a Guardian Angel with your monthly gift through our secure website. It's easy to do and you'll be helping the animals all year round.

Sponsorship is a one-time gift of $25 or more made in honor of an animal at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. You can sponsor an animal in your own name or as a gift for someone else. Sponsorship gifts are unrestricted gifts that will be used to support lifesaving work wherever it is needed most. You can make a gift in honor of a loved one and send them a printed card or an e-card. You can also post a lasting tribute on the Best Friends website. Make your memorial gift.

We can stop or reduce your mail. Email mailings@bestfriends.org with your name and mailing address and tell us what you'd like: no mail at all, or fewer mailings. It takes four to eight weeks for mail to stop, because mailing lists go to the mail house six to eight weeks before each mailing and can't be changed once they're in production. A piece or two may still arrive in that window.

Best Friends does not sell, rent or exchange your information with other organizations; see the privacy policy. If you're getting mail from other organizations, you can register your preferences with DMA Choice (dmachoice.org). To opt out of the two list companies Best Friends uses to find new donors: Epsilon (legal.epsilon.com/dsr or 866-267-3861) and Wiland (wiland.com/privacy-choices).

Duplicates almost always mean you have two records with us, often from a slightly different name or address. Email donations@bestfriends.org with both versions of your name and address (or the two email addresses getting duplicate email) and Donor Relations will merge them. Duplicate email stops within a few days of the merge. Printed mail takes six to eight weeks to catch up, because it's prepared in advance, so you may see doubles for about two more months.

There's no separate renewal gift: your membership year runs from your last gift of $25 or more. If you get a renewal notice right after giving, the two crossed in the mail. Notices are printed weeks in advance, so you can disregard it.
