Animal Rescue of the Rockies
Animal Rescue of the Rockies is a partner of Best Friends, working together to save the lives of dogs and cats in communities like yours across the country
The Best Friends Network is made up of thousands of public and private shelters, rescue groups, spay/neuter organizations, and other animal welfare groups — all working to save the lives of dogs and cats in communities like yours across the country.
From Animal Rescue of the Rockies
Animal Rescue of the Rockies pulls homeless at-risk dogs and cats from overcrowded shelters and places them in loving foster and adoptive homes throughout Colorado. Each year we adopt out an average of 2,000 lucky pets. We have a TNR program and work closely with other TNR groups to help community cat populations. Each pet is spayed or neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and treated for any known veterinary needs prior to adoption. Since our beginnings in Breckenridge, Colorado in 2003, we have expanded our services and outreach to encompass the entire Front Range area and beyond. Most of our fosters and volunteers live in the Denver, Boulder, and Fort Collins areas. Our organization is foster-home based, although we do have two small cat adoption facilities, one in Fairplay, Colorado, and one at the Just Cats store in Denver. We also operate a thrift shop at 203 N. Main St. in Breckenridge, Colorado.
