The Best Friends Network is made up of thousands of public and private shelters, rescue groups, spay/neuter organizations, and other animal welfare groups — all working to save the lives of dogs and cats in communities like yours across the country.
From Humane Network aka Options Veterinary Care
The mission of Options Veterinary Care is to provide quality, affordable, and accessible spay/neuter services and veterinary care options for pets and community cats in order to keep pets and families together and to support a humane community. Our focus will be Northern Nevada. Access to veterinary care is a national crisis with more than 25 million pets going without care. One out of four pet owners' experiences barriers to obtaining veterinary care, and the primary obstacle for all pet owners seeking any type of care is finances, according to a report from the Access to Veterinary Care Coalition. It is estimated that in Washoe County, there are more than 36,000 pets who do not receive needed care due to financial barriers. Opening an a?ordable nonprofit clinic will provide access to care with dignity, reduce su?ering, and provide a referral source for veterinary clinics who too often must perform economic euthanasia.
