Stay up to date regarding our programs and how you can help
By Jaimi Haig

Adopting a Pet Our Lifesaving Center and Kitten Care Center does virtual adoptions only. If you are interested in adopting a pet, please fill out our dog adoption survey or our cat adoption survey to provide us with information about your lifestyle and what you are looking for in a dog or cat. An adoption specialist will be in touch with you within 48 hours to help find a match and potentially schedule an appointment.

Fostering a Pet As we bring more at-risk pets into our lifesaving program, we need more fosters homes! Can you help? Our dogs and cats would love to keep you company. Plus, it'll help make more room at the shelter and our center for incoming pets. We provide the food and supplies, you provide the loving home. Fostering is a fantastic way to help save lives, so sign up today or email/call your local shelter and offer to foster. Learn more here

Food Pantry Please email utahtnr@bestfriends.org to make an appointment for pick up. To drop off food donations, please use the bins by the entrance of our Lifesaving Center, 2005 S. 1100 E. anytime. We especially need dry cat and dry puppy food. Previously opened bags of dry food are accepted if taped up securely. Click here if you would like to donate through our Amazon Charity List*. You are also welcome to use your own online pet food provider.

*If you haven't yet joined AmazonSmile, you'll see a screen asking you to join before directing you to our Charity List. It's free and you'll be able to select Best Friends Animal Society as the charity of your choice. After your selection, you should be directed to our Charity List to begin shopping.

Community Cats Community cat assistance services are now by appointment only by car pick-up service. Contact utahtnr@bestfriends.org to make an appointment.

Spay/Neuter  Our Orem Spay/Neuter Clinic is still closed to the public. Right now, we are facilitating much needed spay/neuter surgeries for our shelter and rescue partners and community cat caregivers. We are planning a re-opening phase and will announce our re-opening date as soon as it's available. We look forward to the day our organization can once provide this important service to the public.

Give the gift of lifesaving to Utah's pets Your gift to the animals goes straight to work helping dogs and cats right here in Utah. You'll be supporting ongoing operations at the Lifesaving Center in Salt Lake City and ensuring countless pets across the state receive lifesaving medical care, love, companionship and the chance to find a family of their very own. Donate here

What to do if you find kittens Many animal shelters are unable to provide around the clock care for young kittens. Please read and download this page to learn what to do if you find kittens.

Pet Preparedness Plan If you're like us, pets are family and want to keep them safe and healthy. We now have a resource page to help you prepare and stay safe during these uncertain times. Check it out here.

NKUT Super Adoption Best Friends is taking every precaution to keep both people and pets healthy and safe. Because there was no way to predict the full extent or impact of the virus's spread, we canceled the June 2020 NKUT Super Adoption event. We will reassess the timing of the next NKUT Super Adoption once we move beyond these uncertain times. As we have a better understanding of what lies ahead we will keep you informed on how we can support adoption and lifesaving efforts through collaborative events and initiatives. Thank you for your understanding and for being a part of this work to Save Them All.
