Seven great reasons to attend NKUT Adoption Weekend

Adoptable cat
Find out why our fall adoption weekend is the best place to find a new family member.

Twice a year, Best Friends Animal Society hosts NKUT Adoption Weekend, bringing hundreds of adoptable pets from our NKUT Coalition partners to one convenient spot in one giant effort to find homes for pets. It’s a festival-like atmosphere and a weekend full of happy endings. Here are seven great reasons to stop by the Utah State Fairpark on October 10 and 11.

1. Quality and quantity.
Our NKUT Coalition partners bring more than 800 fabulous dogs and cats of all breed types, sizes and ages from across the state of Utah. From tiny Chihuahuas to giant Great Danes and young kittens to senior pets, the only thing "wrong" with these animals is that they need a home. You're bound to find just the right fit for your family.

2. Specials and discounts.
Adoption fees start at just $25 for cats and $50 for dogs! While each of our partners sets their own fees to cover their costs, many offer specials (two-for-one) and discounted pricing just for this event.

3. Free adoption starter kit.
Everyone who adopts at NKUT Adoption Weekend gets a great starter kit filled with essentials and fun stuff for their new family member, some gifts from our sponsors and vendors, and a discount coupon to spend on swag at the Best Friends merchandise tent.

4. Best Friends and NKUT swag.
Speaking of swag, we'll have the latest Best Friends and NKUT gear for you and your pet. Show your support and spread the word in style with our hot new knee socks, hoodies, t-shirts, wristbands, dog shirts and more. Prices start at just $1.

5. Convenience.
Sure, we have 800 adoptable animals all in one spot, but we're also conveniently located at the Utah State Fairpark, with free parking, free admission and great hours (noon to 7 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday). We offer meet-and-greet areas for you to get to know your potential new family member, and your own dogs are welcome, too (on fixed leashes, please).

6. Turnkey pets.
Your new pet comes already spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. You just provide the love.

7. Save a life and help us get to NKUT (no-kill Utah) by 2019!
Every animal rescued makes room for another homeless pet and leads to fewer killings in shelters. Not only are you saving a life by adopting, you're helping us reach our no-kill Utah goal!
