Barat is a lovable couch potato with a heart full of affection and a serious talent for melting people’s hearts. This super cute, chill boy is all about the simple pleasures in life: a comfy spot to relax, good company, and the occasional well-timed butt scratch that gets his signature happy butt wiggles and full-body tail wags going. He has a favorite chair he proudly claims as his daytime throne, where he can usually be found lounging like he owns the place (because, honestly, he kind of does). Barat is wonderfully low-maintenance and easygoing, making him a breeze to have around the home. Volunteers consistently rave about him, and he’s done great on outings and sleepovers, showing off just how well he settles into new environments. While he’s a dedicated nap enthusiast, Barat also enjoys getting out for leisurely walks or relaxed hikes when the mood strikes. He’s happy to explore, then just as happy to head back home and curl up again. Soft, sweet, and full of quiet charm, he also enjoys keeping company with his stuffed toys when he’s not hanging out with his people. If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate companion who brings comfort, smiles, and a whole lot of cozy energy, Barat is ready to meet you.

About Best Friends Animal Society

Best Friends is working to end the killing of dogs and cats in U.S. shelters in part by getting more pets out of shelters and into loving homes.

We’ve come a long way since the first known city reached no-kill in 1994, and now we’re closer than ever to making the entire country no-kill. Of the roughly 3,900 shelters operating in America today, 1,300 of them are not yet no-kill, but nearly half are close with 100 or fewer additional pets to be saved, and we know what to do to get them there.

Best Friends is committed to working with passionate people like you to save homeless pets through adoption, volunteering, fostering, and advocacy. In addition to our lifesaving centers around the U.S, we also founded and run the nation's largest no-kill sanctuary for companion animals.

Working together, we can save homeless pets in our communities and secure a better future for our best friends. Together, we will bring the whole country to no-kill.
