Eudora, adopted by Mariana and Austin

Eudora cuddles with me every morning when I wake up and is an aggressive “cuddle plopper.” She approaches us for cuddles and drops her whole body weight right next to us. She also purrs some of the loudest purrs I have ever heard. Her purrs almost sound like bubbles popping! She has learned to communicate with us by looking at something, then back at us, and meowing really loud. She mainly does this with her one toy, so she’s demanding we play with her all the time.

Eudora follows me everywhere in the house, to my workspace, into the bathroom, and even opens the door to check on me. She sits and watches me the whole time I’m in the kitchen cooking. She is very much a FOMO (fear-of-missing-out) cat. If I call her name, I always hear a little jingle followed by a bright orange cat looking for me and a big meow!

Lazlo, adopted by Kristen

After a cross-country road trip, Lazlo is now livin’ large in Virginia. He has not had any urinary issues since being in my care, which is great. He loves to play with toys, especially wand toys. He stays very fashionable with his MANY bow-tie options. Everyone who meets him falls in love with him, and he loves them right back.

Wilson, adopted by Biz and Ben

Wilson is doing AMAZING! He’s letting his weird shine and has made so many friends. We’re currently working on leash excitement (he wants to meet every dog), but he’s otherwise doing incredibly. We are smitten.

Malcolm and Fletcher, adopted by Taunya and Paul

These two are quite the pair. They are such brothers! They play with vigor and cuddle like babies when they are worn out. They love running around and exploring in the yard, wrestling, playing tug-of-war, and cuddling.

Malcolm approaches everything with caution and has taken some time to fully warm up and trust, but he is now very much bonded with us and is making other human friends as well. We call him King Malcolm because we think the world should revolve around him. Fletcher approaches each day with insatiable curiosity and love for life. He is full of mischief, constantly into everything, but it is impossible to get mad at him. We love these boys so much!

Let's make every shelter and every community no-kill in 2025

Our goal at Best Friends is to support all animal shelters in the U.S. in reaching no-kill in 2025. No-kill means saving every dog and cat in a shelter who can be saved, accounting for community safety and good quality of life for pets.

Shelter staff can’t do it alone. Saving animals in shelters is everyone’s responsibility, and it takes support and participation from the community. No-kill is possible when we work together thoughtfully, honestly, and collaboratively.
