Letters from home: pet adoption updates

Time to celebrate! Meet pets recently adopted from Best Friends.

No matter how big or small, young or old, it’s a magical moment when homeless pets find new families to love them. The wagging tails, rumbling purrs and smiling faces are all the proof we need of that. From coast to coast, Best Friends helps thousands of pets find new homes each year, and every adoption is a cause for celebration (and maybe a few happy tears).

We want to share some of that joy with you, so here are a few of the dogs and cats who have recently settled into their new lives with their new favorite people.

Abigail

Before ending up at Best Friends, Abigail had spent most of her life living outside on a farm. We think it’s pretty safe to say that she’s loving her new life indoors, which comes with unlimited snuggles from her adopters.

Denver, Dallas and Dakota

When you fall in love with one kitten but don’t want to leave his siblings behind, you take home all three. At least, that’s what Kayleigh did with Denver, Dallas and Dakota. We have no doubt that the three fortunate felines couldn’t be happier.

Arlo

Arlo has been with us now for more than two years. We adopted him as a senior and he’s still healthy and happy. When we adopted him from the Sanctuary, you said that he was perfect and you were right. We love him so much and can’t imagine life without him.

Picchu

Picchu is a big boy, but apparently no one has told him yet because all he wants to do is climb into a lap and cuddle. Like the best lap dogs, he even loves to give hugs. We predict plenty of hugs given and received in his new life with his new person.

Manny

Here are just some of Manny’s adventures since we adopted him a couple months ago.

  • He has been to the Grand Canyon and Cadillac Ranch, and on a Jeep tour in Sedona, Arizona.
  • He goes to the park near our house a lot and plays in the woods.
  • He was a fan favorite at our family gathering in St. Louis and loved cuddling with my husband’s grandma.
  • He got to pick out a doggie ice cream from Three Dog Bakery and enjoy it at a park near our house.
  • He went on a bike ride with us in White Sands, New Mexico. When it gets warmer here in Ohio, he will be enjoying lots of bike rides with us.

And many more adventures await Mr. Manny!

Canoe

Canoe is having such a blast in his new home that his mom says, “He’ll play with anything that falls on the floor, and his favorite thing to do is hide in his cat tunnel and jump out at unsuspecting people.” Looks like it’s smooth sailing ahead for this Canoe.

Marvin

Jordan came to one of our Atlanta adoption events looking to adopt an adult dog. Instead, she fell in love with Marvin, unable to resist those puppy dog eyes. Can’t say we blame her.
