Even before the doors opened on Day One of the Best Friends Super Adoption in New York, presented by BOBS from Skechers®, it was clear this would be a very special weekend.
Thousands of people attended the June 2-3 event, which featured pets from participating rescue groups and shelters in the area. When the doors opened on Saturday at the Westchester County Center, a line of attendees was already waiting to meet adoptable pets. And by the end of the day, every cat and kitten from Animal Care Centers of NYC had found a home.
Hundreds of cats and dogs were adopted at the event, and that’s really something to celebrate ― because every time a homeless pet goes home, a space opens at the shelter or rescue group for another deserving pet.
