Carrying love home, tonight or 55 years down the road
What do you think of when you envision home? For me, and perhaps for you, too, home is more than a place. It’s a feeling. It’s love and belonging, warmth and safety. It’s a feeling we all deserve to experience, our pets included.
Every day in shelters across the country, dogs and cats are at risk of losing their lives just because they don’t have safe places to call home. They wait for that moment someone arrives in front of their kennel or cage door, sweeping them into their arms and giving them all that comes with home.
And that’s why I love our newest PSA so much.
Our newest Bring Love Home PSA is a celebration of what’s possible when people open their hearts and their front doors and adopt a pet. Featuring new music by Grammy Best New Artist award nominee Alex Warren, it’s a stunning reminder that, when we work together, we can give every wagging tail and every whiskered face a second chance. Give it a watch:
Pretty great, right?
Alongside shelters, rescue groups, and people like you, Best Friends is working to make every shelter in the country no-kill — because we believe, down to our bones, that every animal deserves their very own place to call home.
But what does home mean? I asked our team on a recent all-staff call. The words they chose were ones I think we’d all agree on: family, safety, comfort, security, peace, love, warmth, joy.
And my personal favorite: Home is where you can be yourself.
Exactly.
That’s what we’re fighting for — not just a roof and four walls but the moment a dog or cat realizes, “I’m safe now. I belong here.” So here’s my ask: Watch and share the Home PSA. Share it with your friends and family. Post it on your social channels. Send it to someone who needs a little extra hope today.
Because whether it happens tonight, next month, or, as Alex Warren sings, “55 years down the road,” every pet deserves to feel what home feels like.
