Help community cats in Maryland
Maryland residents: Ask your state reps to support TNVR!
The Maryland General Assembly has introduced legislation to protect Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs and community cats statewide. Not only would be the first statewide comprehensive law to protect community cats in our country; this law is named after beloved community cat, Ash.
Ash’s Law, House Bill 912 and Senate Bill 750, would establish Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) as official Maryland policy for community cats. It also would amend criminal law to allow good Samaritans to care for community cat populations without fear of fines or criminal penalties.
Trap-neuter-vaccinate-return (TNVR) is an animal-friendly and veterinarian-approved method for keeping community cats safe, healthy, and out of shelters, humanely reducing their population numbers over time.
Learn more about community cat Ash's story and how we continue working to honor her memory.
Together, we can encourage Maryland leaders to adopt humane programming and help more community cats!
