Help end puppy mill sales in Massachusetts pet stores
Massachusetts residents: Urge the House Ways and Means Committee to support Senate Bill 3028!
March 19, 2026: Senate Bill 2720 (now SB 3028) has passed the Senate unanimously! Please take a moment to message the House Ways and Means Committee in support of the bill.
New legislation could help end retail pet sales in Massachusetts, protecting consumers and promoting adoption along the way.
Senate Bill 3028 (previously SB 2720) would effectively prohibit Massachusetts pet stores from selling dogs, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs sourced from commercial breeding mills.
This legislation would encourage Massachusetts pet stores to offer pets from local shelters and rescue groups instead.
