Improve access to veterinary care in California

California residents: Ask the California Senate Rules Committee to advance Assembly Bill 2010.

The California Senate Rules Committee is discussing new legislation that would improve access to veterinary care statewide — including critical spay/neuter services.

If enacted, Assembly Bill 2010 would improve and accelerate access to care by:

  • Reducing barriers for veterinary clinics: Qualified California facilities would be able operate with fewer unnecessary facility requirements, allowing them to serve more animals efficiently.

  • Expanding clinic capacity: Modernized structural requirements will allow more California clinics to provide high-volume, affordable veterinary care (including spay/neuter services).
