Pat Guerrero
Director - National Volunteer Engagement
As Director - National Volunteer Engagement, Pat Guerrero is responsible for executing a strategy of deepening and broadening the engagement of volunteers with Best Friends' mission and programs. She and her team engage and mobilize Best Friends volunteers to work on events, initiatives and projects across the U.S. Their goal is to build a strategically engaged, powerful and sustainable nationwide network of passionate, skilled volunteers, donors, advocates and staff, working together to end the killing of dogs and cats in America's shelters.
Prior to being employed by Best Friends, Pat was a Best Friends volunteer for six years, taking on small and large projects with increasing levels of responsibility for multiple departments within the organization. Her experience is a good example of a volunteer taking on responsibilities that were once thought to be the purview of paid staff. Engaging volunteers is a great fit for Pat's background in human resources, staffing and training.
She lives in Kanab, Utah, with a variety of feline and canine family members, and loves to spend time outdoors kayaking and hiking in the high desert of beautiful southern Utah.
