Great news — Legislation that will lead to more lives saved in Utah has unanimously passed the state legislature! Senate Bill 201 is now on its way to the governor's desk.

March 6, 2026: SB 201 has passed both chambers! Please take a moment to thank Senator Grover and Representative Loubet for sponsoring SB 201.

Utah Senate Bill 201 (SB 201) aims to clarify and modernize shelter euthanasia practices, creating more consistency across the state.

If enacted, the bill will also nurture collaboration between shelters and rescue groups, providing pets on euthanasia lists more opportunities to be saved.
