Danville has taken an important step forward by announcing plans for an independent, comprehensive assessment of companion animal services. Now, let's encourage city leaders to follow through with a truly independent review conducted by a qualified provider with meaningful animal sheltering expertise.  

A strong assessment can help identify what's working, where improvements are needed, and provide a clear path toward better services for Danville residents and animals. 

Best Friends Animal Society welcomes the opportunity to serve as a stakeholder and resource as the city develops its Request for Proposals and moves this important process forward.

TAKE ACTION: Urge the Danville City Council and Mayor to make sure the independent assessment is comprehensive, informed by animal sheltering expertise, and focused on actionable improvements for residents and animals.
