Hi, I’m Laurel! I’m a 2-month-old black longhair kitten with soft, fluffy fur and a little bit of “mysterious forest creature” energy—at least until I start tumbling over my own paws. Then I’m just adorable chaos. I’m curious about everything. Every shadow, crinkle, and dangling string is worth investigating immediately. I love to explore, pounce, and practice my very serious kitten skills, even if I still have a lot to learn. Life is one big adventure, and I’m eager to be part of all of it. When I’m done playing, I turn into a total sweetheart. I love warmth, comfort, and snuggling up close where I can feel safe and cozy. I’ll happily curl into a soft little fluffball and purr myself to sleep. Since I’m still so young, I’d love a patient home to help me grow and learn. In return, I promise to bring lots of joy, fluffy cuddles, and a little bit of playful mischief to your life. If you’re looking for a tiny black cloud of love with a big heart, I think I could be your Sammie!

About Best Friends Animal Society

Best Friends is working to end the killing of dogs and cats in U.S. shelters in part by getting more pets out of shelters and into loving homes.

We’ve come a long way since the first known city reached no-kill in 1994, and now we’re closer than ever to making the entire country no-kill. Of the roughly 3,900 shelters operating in America today, 1,300 of them are not yet no-kill, but nearly half are close with 100 or fewer additional pets to be saved, and we know what to do to get them there.

Best Friends is committed to working with passionate people like you to save homeless pets through adoption, volunteering, fostering, and advocacy. In addition to our lifesaving centers around the U.S, we also founded and run the nation's largest no-kill sanctuary for companion animals.

Working together, we can save homeless pets in our communities and secure a better future for our best friends. Together, we will bring the whole country to no-kill.
