Raj Kamachee, Best Friends’ Chief Information Technology Officer, brings over two decades of experience leading technology and digital transformation initiatives across various organizations, including startups, non-profits, and large enterprises.
Before joining Best Friends, Raj co-founded ChangeUp, where he served as Chief Technology Officer and oversaw the creation of innovative solutions designed to drive social impact. From 2017 to 2021, Raj held the role of CIO & CTO at Team Rubicon, where he played a key role in advancing the organization’s technological capabilities to better respond to disaster relief efforts. Earlier in his career, Raj worked on custom software and financial management solutions for the U.S. Department of Defense at Integrated Data Services, leveraging his expertise to support critical national initiatives.
Raj’s journey into animal welfare is deeply rooted in his upbringing in Malaysia, where he developed a profound appreciation for animals. As Chief Information Technology Officer at Best Friends, he is dedicated to harnessing the power of technology, data, and artificial intelligence to help achieve the organization’s mission of making all U.S. shelters no-kill.
Raj resides in California and enjoys hiking, photography, and exploring the outdoors with his family.
