Thank your city council member for their support

CA: Los Angeles has reached no-kill!

NKLA super pup

As recently as 2012, when Best Friends launched the No-Kill Los Angeles (NKLA) initiative, only 56% of dogs and cats in city shelters were making it out alive.

But thanks to the hard work of so many, including the entire NKLA Coalition, Mayor Garcetti, Los Angeles Animal Services, the L.A. City Council, our fabulous local community and devoted volunteers, we are thrilled to announce a sustained save rate of 90.49% for 2020. Los Angeles is now the largest no-kill city in the country.

TAKE ACTION: Please take a moment to contact your council member to thank them for helping to make L.A. a no-kill city and an example for other cities across the nation to follow. Together, we can end the killing of dogs and cats in America’s shelters. Together, we will Save Them All.
