Help remove dog ownership barriers in New York

New York residents: Ask your governor to sign the inclusive renters insurance bill.

Breed-based dog laws are outdated, costly to enforce, and have been proven ineffective at keeping communities safe. Instead, we need comprehensive dangerous dog laws that focus on dog behavior and owner accountability not how the dog looks.

Bills A.893/S.364 would prohibit renters insurance companies from restricting or denying coverage to a renter solely based on their dog's breed. The New York State Senate and Assembly have already passed the bills and now it's the governor's turn to sign it into law!

TAKE ACTION: Send a message to your governor asking her to sign A.893/S.364! To edit your message, click on the pencil at the bottom of the form.
