Support pet-friendly housing in D.C.
Urge your council members to pass the Pets in Housing Amendment Act of 2024!
The D.C. Council will soon vote on a bill that would make pet-friendly housing more accessible.
Lack of affordable housing options is one of the top reasons dogs and cats end up in animal shelters.
Bill 25-827 would help keep pets and families together by:
- Limiting the amount of pet fees/deposits that a housing provider may charge
- Prohibiting restrictions based on the pet’s breed, size, or weight
- Allowing individuals with pets access to homeless shelters
