Adopt a pet during National Adoption Weekend, July 22-24

Bring home happiness

Many shelters around the country are currently over capacity, so by adopting a best friend, you give one lucky dog or cat a home and create space for another pet to be rescued.

See below to find a participating Best Friends Network Partner near you and help adoptable pets in your community find homes.

Partially because of the pandemic, more pets are entering shelters that are over capacity and short-staffed. You can help by adopting a pet.

When you adopt a pet, you save lives

By adopting, you give one lucky dog or cat a home and create space for another pet to be rescued.

That means you become a lifesaver to two animals in need! Plus, you gain a friend — a loyal companion who can offer you comfort and love, no matter what uncertainty life holds.

So adopt a pet during Best Friends’ national adoption weekend. Hundreds of shelters and rescue groups nationwide are taking part!
