Best Friends in Northwest Arkansas
Best Friends in Northwest Arkansas works collaboratively with city shelters, local animal welfare organizations and passionate individuals to save the lives of homeless pets in shelters.
To support this work and help Northwest Arkansas achieve no-kill, Best Friends is building a regional pet resource center in the city of Bentonville. With construction beginning in 2020, the Best Friends Pet Resource Center will serve pets and communities in Northwest Arkansas and across the country.
During the center’s construction, Best Friends will provide for area pets by working with the NWA Partnership for Animal Welfare (NWA PAW), a voluntary association of nonprofit organizations and government animal shelters working together to end the killing of cats and dogs in Northwest Arkansas. Best Friends will work with NWA PAW to provide educational opportunities, distribute donated pet supplies, assist with adoption events, support trap-neuter-return efforts and other services.
How you can get involved
Adopt a pet.
By adopting a dog or cat, you will be helping to Save Them All — one four-legged friend at a time. While the new resource center is being built, you can search for adoptable pets in the Northwest Arkansas area online.
Best Friends has a variety of volunteer opportunities available at any given time. They may include assisting at an adoption or microchipping event, or helping to unload a van of transported cats staying overnight in our area.
