Help save cats and dogs in North Carolina
In 2018, nearly 56,000 dogs and cats were killed in animal shelters in North Carolina just because they didn’t have safe places to call home. Together, we’re changing that.
Best Friends is working with animal welfare organizations and stakeholders statewide to save every pet who can be saved and reach no-kill throughout North Carolina by 2025. Through collaborative partnerships, assessments, mentoring, leadership training and lifesaving grants, we’re empowering animal shelters and advocates to create safe, humane communities for pets and the people who love them.
Here are some simple ways you can help:
- Join the North Carolina action team to get involved with local community-based lifesaving efforts
- Sign up for legislative alerts about critical animal-related issues in your city, county and state
- Visit the community lifesaving dashboard to learn more about your own community’s lifesaving status
- Reach out to your local shelter to see what kind of help is most needed to save more pets
You have the power to help save pets’ lives in North Carolina and help achieve no-kill for dogs and cats statewide and nationwide by 2025!
