A donor-advised fund (DAF) allows you to make a charitable contribution, receive an immediate income-tax deduction, and then recommend grants from the fund over time.

A DAF is like a charitable savings account: You contribute to the fund as frequently as you like and then recommend grants to your favorite charity when you’re ready.

You can give to Best Friends Animal Society from your DAF account directly on our website from hundreds of DAF providers including Fidelity, Schwab, Vanguard, and more.

This type of giving program provides you with the flexibility to support the animals through Best Friends while enjoying some favorable tax benefits. It's a great way to simplify your charitable giving while helping to Save Them All.

Your support saves lives

When you recommend a gift to Best Friends through your donor-advised fund, you’re providing the crucial funding to support and expand the work of saving the lives of homeless pets.

Best Friends operates lifesaving programming around the U.S., including offering low-cost spay/neuter services, running community cat programs, and providing resources to help keep pets in their homes with the families who love them. The support and devotion of people like you help make this lifesaving work possible.

Enjoy the tax benefits of a DAF while helping homeless pets

DAFs allow you to avoid the administrative and legal burdens of forming a private foundation while preserving the joys of charitable giving.

About Best Friends

Best Friends Animal Society is working to save the lives of cats and dogs all across the country, giving pets second chances and happy homes.

Just a few short years ago, cats and dogs were killed in staggering numbers in this country simply because shelters didn't have the community support or the resources to save their lives. That number is now less than half a million per year, but there’s still work to do to ensure a bright future for every dog and cat in America.

Best Friends operates the nation's largest no-kill sanctuary for companion animals and is committed to saving the lives of homeless pets by working with shelters and passionate people like you. Together, we will bring the whole country to no-kill in 2025. Together, we will Save Them All.
