How to adopt from our sanctuary in Kanab, Utah

Thank you for choosing to adopt your new family member from Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. We’re here to make your pet adoption process as easy as possible, and we are thrilled to help find the right match for you.

We are currently unable to welcome visitors or volunteers. However, you can still adopt a pet through a virtual meet-and-greet and “curbside pickup,” which greatly reduces personal contact. Due to current travel restrictions, we are unable to bring your adopted pet to you. If you cannot travel to the Sanctuary to adopt at this time, there are Best Friends lifesaving centers or network partners near you that would love to connect you to an adoptable pet.

How to adopt

The first step in adopting an animal from the Sanctuary is to complete an online matchmaking survey, which will give us some information about what you are looking for in your next pet. To launch the survey, select the animal type you are interested in adopting:
Dog
Cat
Bunny
Parrot
Horse
Pig
Goat/Sheep
Other

An adoption specialist will email you within 48 hours to talk about the next steps. We recommend adding bestfriends.org to your list of safe senders so that our email does not end up in your junk or spam folder. If you have any questions, please include them in your survey and one of our adoption specialists will be happy to answer them.

Thank you for your patience, understanding and continued support for the animals during this unprecedented time.
