Start your Sanctuary experience at the Best Friends Welcome Center
If you're visiting Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, this is the place to start! Nestled at the base of beautiful red rock cliffs, the welcome center greets you with wind chimes, a peaceful pond and a lovely wishing garden. It's staffed with friendly people who are happy to help you make the most of your visit. While you're there, you can sign up for a tour, become a member of Best Friends Animal Society or buy a souvenir in the Sanctuary Store.
The following maps are available at the welcome center front desk:
- City maps that detail restaurant locations, parks and local businesses
- Maps to hiking trails and other points of interest on the Sanctuary grounds
- Public areas on Sanctuary grounds, including Angels Rest, Angels Overlook, Angels Landing and Angel Village café
- Maps that guide volunteers to their respective orientation centers
The welcome center is located five miles north of Kanab, just off Highway 89. Turn right into our south entrance next to the big orange sign and continue one mile. The welcome center is located on the left side of the road.
Parking is available in front of the welcome center during business hours. RV day parking is available adjacent to the welcome center lot during business hours
Rest rooms near the welcome center are available during normal business hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, except Christmas Day).
